Mahakumbh 2025: Leveling work of Sangam ghats intensified

Prayagraj| The picture of Prayagraj has started changing for Mahakumbh-2025. The pace of work has increased in the Kumbh city and on the ghats of Ganga, Yamuna and Sangam. As per the intention of CM Yogi, the ongoing beautification and development works in the city will be completed by 15th November by the district administration. At the same time, the works of the fair area will also be completed by the fair administration by 15th December.

With the receding of Ganga water, the work of leveling the land in the fair area has started at a fast pace. Electric poles are being installed in the entire fair area. Electric wires are being pulled and lights are being installed.

Construction of a big office of the Fair Authority has started in the Parade Ground. The police have already geared up for security. Police personnel have reached the fair area and barracks have been constructed for them. These days, police training is going on regarding security arrangements in the fair area.

PWD has started building Pantoon bridge. As the water of Ganga decreases, this work will be given more momentum. At present, construction of two pantoon bridges on Old GT Road, one each on Gangoli Shivalaya Marg and Harishchandra Marg Ghat has started. This time 30 pontoon bridges will be built.

Apart from wall painting, beautification of intersections is going on at a fast pace in the city. Major roads are being rebuilt. Most of the roads have been built. Roads have also been built around the ghats, so that the devotees do not face any kind of difficulty and the traffic remains smooth.

More than 10,000 institutions are about to set up their tents in the fair area being built on 4,200 hectares. An official looking after the works of the fair area said that more than one lakh tents will be set up in Mahakumbh. There will be arrangements for Kalpavasis in Khak Chowk, Dandibada, Acharya Bada, Prayagwal.

According to Additional Kumbh Fair Officer Vivek Chaturvedi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has clear instructions that all the work should be completed by time, so that the Kalpavasis, devotees and tourists coming to Mahakumbh do not have to face any kind of problem. As per the intention of Chief Minister, all the work is being completed rapidly and all will be finished before the deadline.
