Lucknow| Yogi government is working day and night to make Mahakumbh-2025 grand, divine, safe and accessible. Full care will also be taken of the health of the devotees coming to Mahakumbh. In view of this, the fair administration is establishing ‘Netra Kumbh’ for the devotees and bathers in the Mahakumbh fair area.

This ‘Netra Kumbh’ (Eye Camp), to be set up with over 9 crore funds, will provide a temporary eye care facility to the devotees, where services like vision correction of devotees, cataract surgery and distribution of spectacles will be provided during the fair. A large central unit for ‘Netra Kumbh’ will be set up in the main fair area, which will act as the primary eye care centre.

A record number of devotees from all over the country and the world are likely to arrive at Mahakumbh 2025. Yogi government and fair administration are making 100 percent efforts to make Mahakumbh easy and safe for the devotees. The establishment of ‘Netra Kumbh’ is a step taken in that direction.

For this, a budget of more than Rs 9.15 crore has been proposed in the financial year 2024-25. Through this, eye care of the devotees coming for bath during Mahakumbh can be secured. If any devotee requires cataract surgery, arrangements will also be made for the same. At the same time, along with eye checkup, distribution of glasses will also be ensured. Thousands of devotees will be able to benefit from this.

This ‘Netra Kumbh’ will be completely within the reach of the devotees. It will be strategically located inside the Kumbh Mela complex for easy access of pilgrims. In this ‘Netra Kumbh’, extensive eye examination of pilgrims and saints will be ensured. For this, modern equipment required for eye examination will be installed in the camp.

Spectacles will be distributed to persons with visual impairment during the examination, while in cases where a more serious problem is found, cataract surgery and other necessary treatment will be arranged in the partner hospitals. The initiative, along with eye care services, aims to make people understand and educate them on the importance of eye health and regular checkups.

During the program, eye health data collected through examination of devotees and bathers will be saved digitally. This will enable monitoring of the condition of patients and follow up when necessary and help in providing necessary care.

People will be encouraged to take advantage of this facility. Adequate number of eye specialists will also be appointed here and along with necessary equipment, adequate quantity of medicines will also be available.
