Mahakumbh-2025: Devotees may get the facility of sleeping pods
Prayagraj| Yogi government is providing world class facilities to the devotees coming to Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Apart from the city, a tent city is being constructed in the Kumbh area for the stay of visitors. Along with the tent city, it is being considered to provide the facility of state-of-the-art sleeping pods for the first time. The Tourism Department has prepared a road map for the same. After providing sleeping pod facility at Junction Railway Station in Prayagraj, now devotees and tourists will be able to enjoy sleeping pods with world class facilities in Kumbh area too.
Prayagraj Regional Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh said that a traditional tent city is being constructed at the parade ground for devotees in the Kumbh area. Apart from this, two tent cities with luxury facilities are also being established in Arail and Jhunsi on PPP mode. Tourists and devotees are getting good response regarding the tent city.
According to the Regional Tourism Officer, 1,600 tents have been booked in the tent city in Arail with a capacity of 2,000 tents. In this, a road map has been prepared to build 400 sleeping pods in the proposed second tent city in Jhunsi. Tender for making sleeping pods is under process.
She said that there is a plan to construct them on PPP mode. But, it will be finalized only after ensuring all safety standards. All luxury facilities meeting all the standards will be provided in these sleeping pods to be built on the banks of Triveni. The sleeping pods will be a capsule shaped chamber, all equipped with modern facilities. Pod are prepared keeping in mind the needs of the devotees. The pod has all the facilities for the passenger to sleep comfortably as well as complete their essential tasks.
These fully air-conditioned pods also have charging and drinking water facilities. Passengers taking pod facilities will also be provided with cloak rooms, reception booths, washrooms or restrooms, and house pantry. For this, offline and online booking facility can also be provided.
