Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election Results – Congress alliance wins 15, BJP wins 14 seats, Omar Abdullah set become the Chief Minister
Srinagar|Counting of votes for Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections is in progress. Congress alliance is leading in trends. The Congress alliance has won 15 seats while leading on 32 seats, while the BJP has won 14 seats while leading on 15 seats. PDP has won 1 seat while leading on 3 seats. Leading on the other 7 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party has won Basholi seat.
JKNC chief Farooq Abdullah said, “It (restoring statehood) is very important and I hope the INDIA alliance will fight an equal battle with us to restore statehood here as soon as possible… I think Omar Abdullah will become the Chief Minister.”
Ranveer Singh Pathania has won from Udhampur East and Balwant Singh Mankotia has won from Chenani assembly seat. BJP candidate from Udhampur West assembly constituency Pawan Kumar Gupta said on his victory, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Udhampur West and also thank the party high command, who gave me the ticket”. I am happy with the people of Udhampur and my workers who have worked so hard. I received blessings from all people… I give credit for this victory to the people of Udhampur West and BJP.
