Investment: Foreign and domestic investors invested five billion dollars in the market in March, maximum investment in BFSI

New Delhi| Foreign and domestic investors invested five billion dollars in the stock market in March. According to the report of JM Financial Securities, last month foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have invested $975 million and domestic institutional investors (DIIs) have invested a total of $4.3 billion in the domestic equity market.

Increasing share of FIIs in the market
According to the report, FIIs were net sellers in the stock market from early March to the 19th. But, in the last weeks, foreign investors bought extensively and invested more than $3.6 billion. Due to this, the share of FIIs in the market has increased to 16.8 percent, which was 15.9 percent in February.

In which areas FIIs invested the most
The sectors where FIIs invested the most included banking, financial and insurance services (BFSI), telecommunications and metals. $1.7 billion was invested in BFSI, $36 million in Telecom and $219 million in Metal. More than 60 per cent of FII investments were in BFSI, IT, oil-gas, auto and pharma. BFSI’s share of total FII assets in India increased to 31.2 per cent in March.
