India’s electronics production amounted to Rs 9.52 lakh crore, mobile phone exports crossed Rs 1.2 lakh crore

New Delhi| Production Linked Isentive Scheme (PLI) scheme has led to an increase in the production of electronic products in the country to Rs 9.52 lakh crore from Rs 1.9 lakh crore 10 years ago. It has gained from a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.4 per cent over the review period. This information was shared by the government. Government told that the mobile sector has benefited a lot from PLI. This has brought the production value to Rs 6.61 lakh crore, which is more than the target. At the same time, this sector has seen an investment of Rs 9,100 crore, which is more than the target set.

The mobile PLI scheme aims to achieve cumulative production of Rs 4.39 lakh crore in 2023-24 and Rs 8.12 lakh crore by FY 2026 during a five-year period. Mobile worth Rs 1.2 lakh crore was exported in FY 2023-24. This is 77 times higher than the 2014-15 figure. Mobile worth Rs 1,566 crore was exported from India in 2014-15.

According to the IT Ministry, about 1.22 lakh employment opportunities have been created in the mobile PLI scheme, which is more than the target. At present India is the second largest mobile producing country in the world. Companies like Samsung, Apple and Google are producing their latest mobile phones in India.

Recently, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that in the last six years, the production of mobile phones in the country has increased three times and at the same time the export of mobile phones has increased by 100 times. This shows that India’s mobile phone industry has developed.
