India becomes huge market of 5 G; Government prepares for ‘Made in India’ 6 G
New Delhi| In terms of technology, India is competing with many developed countries of the world. From 5 G launching to 6 G preparation, India is not behind any country in the world. On 1 October 2022, 5 G service has been launched in India. Since then, a network of 5 G networks has been laid in the country. 5 G service has started in every telecom sector across the country. Modi government has made great preparations to develop 5 G ecosystem in India.
Currently two telecom operators in India – Airtel and Jio are providing 5 G service. At the same time, Vodafone Idea (Vi) is also going to start its 5 G service soon. Apart from this, the state-run telecom company BSNL has also started testing the 5 G network. The government telecom company will provide fully Made in India 5 G service. The incumbent government has released a fund of Rs 6000 crore for the revival of BSNL. More funds will be released in the coming time.
Talking about India’s telecom market, PM Modi said that the 5 G market here is bigger than America. Apart from this, PM said that Made in India 6 G is now being worked on in India. There are currently 4.5 lakh 5 G BTS in India, which is a matter of pride in itself. Not only this, India is also a big market for cheap 5 G smartphones. Due to the availability of 5 G network expansion and cheap 5 G smartphones, the number of users here is also increasing rapidly.
On his US tour, PM Modi has also met Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai. Google CEO had also praised PM Modi’s vision. India has immense potential for future AI technology thanks to the expansion of 5 G. Leading technology companies like Google and Apple are assembling their smartphones in India and exporting them to markets around the world. This has been possible because of the PLI scheme of the government.
