India AI Impact Summit 2026 showcases youth-led AI innovation for public good

YUVAi-Global-Youth-Challenge

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 on Tuesday announced the winners of the YUVAi Global Youth Challenge, marking the culmination of a major international initiative under the IndiaAI Mission to promote responsible, youth-led artificial intelligence innovation.

The challenge attracted over 2,500 applications from 38 countries, highlighting growing global engagement among young innovators committed to developing AI solutions aligned with societal and developmental priorities.

Designed for participants aged 13 to 21, the YUVAi Global Youth Challenge aimed to identify, mentor and empower emerging AI leaders through structured learning resources, technical mentorship and ecosystem support.

Anchored in the theme of “People, Planet and Progress,” the initiative encouraged the development of scalable AI solutions across key sectors including public health, agriculture, climate resilience, accessibility, smart mobility and digital trust.

At the summit, the top 70 teams across three challenge tracks showcased working prototypes and engaged with policymakers, industry leaders, investors and academic experts. The platform enabled young innovators to explore collaboration opportunities, pilot implementation pathways and strategies for scaling their solutions.

Following a multi-stage evaluation process, winners were selected from among the top 20 finalists based on technical depth, innovation, scalability and measurable social impact.

The First Prize, carrying ₹15 lakh each, was awarded to Paraspeak, led by Pranet Khetan; AgniSena, represented by Samaraho Mukherjee and Maghnad Debnath; and Z-TRACS, represented by Gaurav Yadav and Nitesh Kapildev Yadav.

The Second Prize of ₹10 lakh each was given to CytoScanZ; WAYV; and VOX-AID.

Special Recognition Prizes of ₹5 lakh each were awarded to MalariaX and KedovoAI.

The recognised projects addressed a wide spectrum of real-world challenges. Innovations included AI-powered malaria detection and risk prediction systems; cervical cancer screening platforms; clinical language models for contextual medical reasoning; telemedicine solutions for rural healthcare; intelligent crop monitoring and livestock analytics; forest fire and flood early warning systems; deepfake detection tools; assistive technologies for speech and visual accessibility; and AI-enabled smart traffic management systems.

Collectively, the solutions demonstrated how youth-led AI innovation can contribute to inclusive and socially relevant development outcomes.

The YUVAi presentations featured five-minute demonstrations by AI entrepreneurs aged 15–25 from across the world. Each presentation was followed by a question-and-answer session examining data integrity, technical robustness, validation frameworks, deployment readiness and scalability.

The jury included Dr Anish John Paul, Program Lead, Atal Innovation Mission; Kirthiga Reddy, CEO, OptimizeGEO.ai; Deepak Bagla, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission; Ranjita Ghosh, CMO, Wipro; and Jeet Wagh, Founder, Ideabaaz.

Their evaluation focused on the practical applicability and long-term impact potential of the solutions.

The winning teams will receive national recognition along with structured ecosystem support, including mentorship, industry connections, incubation opportunities and pathways for pilot deployment. The continued engagement aims to accelerate the scaling of promising AI solutions both within India and internationally.

With the conclusion of the YUVAi Global Youth Challenge at the summit, the IndiaAI Mission reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing young innovators and strengthening India’s position as a global hub for responsible, inclusive and collaborative AI development.
