IMD issues heavy rain warning for next 24 hours in 15 states including UP and Bihar

New Delhi: It has been raining intermittently in many states of the country for the last several days. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy rain for Himachal Pradesh during the next three days. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain in Jammu division, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, South West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim, parts of Northeast India. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely over Tamil Nadu, Goa. There may be heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The IMD has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh this week. Heavy to very heavy rain may occur at isolated places over East Rajasthan. There is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in Delhi on Wednesday. ‘Yellow alert’’ of light to moderate rain has been issued in Delhi for the next two days. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 32 °C and the minimum temperature around 27 °C. The national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal, after a sultry day on Tuesday.
