IBEF Report: The demand for effective leadership and management professionals increasing in the rapidly growing construction industry

New Delhi| One of the most important contributors to India’s gross domestic product (GDP) is the construction industry. According to the IBEF report released in 2021, the construction industry’s share in GDP is around 9 percent. According to the Confederation of Indian Industry, the size of the construction industry in India is expected to increase to reach $1 trillion by the year 2030.The Government’s very high focus on infrastructure development and affordable housing is also increasing the need for individuals with a strong understanding of business functions and management practices to effectively lead and manage construction projects.

Data shows that the value of MBA degree in India is particularly high in the field of built environment. The construction industry needs a skilled workforce with expertise in business management and technology. In such a situation, MBA degree prepares graduates as per the market needs and equips them with many new qualities, so that they can become a valuable asset for the Indian manufacturing industry.
