‘I am sorry’-Rishi Sunak after the election defeat
World| Rishi Sunak’s Conservative Party has suffered a crushing defeat in the British elections. The Labor Party has won the general election with a huge majority. Sunak’s statement also came after the defeat. Sunak said,” I have called the Labor Party and its leader Keir Starmer to congratulate them on winning.”
Sunak further said that today power will go into new hands in a peaceful and orderly manner with the goodwill of all parties. Sunak said, “I take responsibility for the loss of many good, hard-working candidates who lost tonight despite their tireless efforts, their local record and dedication to their communities, which I regret.”
Keir Starmer, leader of the Labor Party and on his way to becoming the new Prime Minister of Britain, thanked the voters and said that the people of the country are ready for change. In his victory speech after winning from Holborn and St Pancras, Starmer, 61, said that whether people voted for him or not, ‘I will serve every person in this constituency.’
