Haryana Assembly election results: BJP leading on 48 seats while Congress leading on 36 seats

Chandigarh| Counting of votes for Haryana Assembly elections is underway. In the initial trends, Bharatiya Janata Party is leading, while Congress is lagging behind. The Congress party is leading on 36 seats, while the BJP is leading on 48 seats. 90 seats were voted on 5 October. According to the latest official trends of the Election Commission, Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat is trailing from Julana.

Anil Vij, BJP candidate from Ambala Cantt assembly seat, said, “The results are coming as we thought, the people of Haryana seem to be teaching a lesson to the Congress… There are people within the Congress who wanted to see Hooda lose and they were the ones bursting crackers.”
