GST collection in April 2025 at a peak of ₹2.37 lakh crore

New Delhi| GST collection rose 12.6 per cent year-on-year to a peak of 2.37 lakh crore in the month of April. The government released figures related to the same. According to the data released by the government, the collection of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in April 2024 was Rs 2.10 lakh crore. This was the second highest collection after the implementation of GST from 01 July 2017. GST collection in March 2025 was Rs 1.96 lakh crore.
GST-related data shows revenue from domestic transactions increased by 10.7 per cent to around Rs 1.9 lakh crore. At the same time, revenue from imported goods increased by 20.8 per cent to Rs 46,913 crore. The amount of issuance of refunds increased by 48.3 per cent to Rs 27,341 crore during April. Net GST collections rose 9.1 per cent to over Rs 2.09 lakh crore in April after adjusting refunds.
