Free LPG cylinders to be available before Diwali, 1.86 crore families will get benefits

Lucknow| Like last year, this time too the Yogi government has issued a government order to provide free LPG cylinders on Diwali. With this step of Yogi government, 1.86 crore families of the state will directly benefit from Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. At the same time, after the order of CM Yogi Adityanath, distribution of free LPG cylinders has been started even before Diwali. Under ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’, free LPG cylinders are distributed twice a year in the state on the occasion of Holi and Diwali respectively.

Under this, a government order has been issued to distribute free LPG cylinders before Diwali. Last year where 1.85 crore beneficiary families and more than 85 lakh women were given its benefits. At the same time, this year the number of beneficiaries has increased to 1.86 crore families. For this, the double engine government is spending Rs 1,890 crore.

Under the Ujjwala scheme, the central government is giving a subsidy of Rs 300 to the beneficiaries. Whereas, the remaining relaxation is given by the state government. Beneficiaries under the scheme 14.2 kg. Cylinder refill is provided.
