Four soldiers including Captain martyred in fresh encounter in Doda

Jammu| An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in forested area of Doda district on Monday night. 4 soldiers have been martyred in this encounter. Officials said that Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint cordon and search operation at Dhari Gote Urbagi in Desa forest area at around quarter to eight in the night. After which the encounter began in which soldiers were martyred.

Four soldiers, including a captain, who were seriously injured in an exchange of fire with heavily armed terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, died early Tuesday, official sources said. Officials said that after a brief exchange of fire, the terrorists tried to escape, but a team led by captain chased them despite the challenging terrain. This was followed by another shooting in the woods at around 9 pm. Five soldiers were seriously injured in the encounter and four of them, including the captain, later succumbed to their injuries, officials said.
