Finance Minister Sitharaman said – Competition along with domestic efficiency is also necessary for economic flexibility

New Delhi| Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the Corporate Building in New Town, Kolkata. Addressing officials of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, she said, the most effective way to ensure flexibility is to create an environment of domestic efficiency as well as competition. She said that despite uncertainties, global policy scenarios are developing rapidly. The Finance Minister said that India is improving on the ease of doing business front. This is a key component of the vision to make the country a global economic superpower.

The Finance Minister said that the government is making continuous efforts to simplify business rules to encourage entrepreneurship. Institutions promoting fairness and accountability in corporate governance are being strengthened. Apart from this, the government is also committed to supporting the culture of innovation and skill development.
