New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to Moscow on July 8-9 at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin to attend the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit. Before the PM’s visit to Russia, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that there has been tremendous improvement in economic relations between the two countries.

Speaking to ANI, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that this will be an influential opportunity for PM Narendra Modi and Russian President Putin to discuss relations between two countries. “This is a way to talk with any country”, he said. The biggest change has been that our economic relations with Russia have increased significantly. At the leadership level, this will be a great opportunity for Prime Minister Modi and President Putin to sit down and talk directly with each other.”

He said that due to different engagements between Prime Minister Modi and President Vladimir Putin, there has been a slight delay in holding this annual summit. The External Affairs Minister further said, “There was definitely a little bit of a summit, but we are two countries which have a strong history of working together. We value the need for an annual summit. Last year when I went to Moscow, I took the Prime Minister’s message that we are committed to the annual summit and we will do it as soon as possible. This is a regular process. It’s a way to talk to any country.”
