Dev Deepawali 2024: Varanasi Ghats to be decked up with 12 lakhs diyas

Lucknow| This year, Dev Deepavali will be celebrated on 15th November. 12 lakh lamps will be lightened up at more than 84 ghats to make Dev Diwali divine and grand. Lakhs of lamps in it will be made of cow dung. Grand Laser Show and Green Fireworks will also be organized on the occasion.

Rajendra Kumar Rawat, Deputy Director of Tourism Department, said that out of 12 lakh lamps, two and a half to three lakh lamps will be made of cow dung. Lamps will also be seen burning on the sand across the Ganga, due to which the sand area of the Ganga in the eastern area of the ghat will also be completely illuminated. Apart from this, the ghats will be cleaned and illuminated with iconic lights.

Deputy Director Tourism said that the story of Ganga descent and Shiva glory will be shown at the ghat through laser show. Pollution-free green fireworks will also be shown on the sand across the Ganga, which will also give the message of environmental protection. Tourists come from all over the country and abroad to see this unique beauty of Kashi on Dev Diwali.
