Whereas, after the special worship of Guru Gorakshanath and Tilakotsav of Gorakshpeethadhishwar on Saturday (October 12), a grand procession of Vijayadashami will be taken out in the evening.
The Vijayadashami procession coming out of Gorakhnath temple under the leadership of Gorakshpeethadhishwar on the day of Dussehra is a special attraction of the festive tradition of Gorakhpur. A big example of social harmony can be seen in this procession. Not only do people of every section participate in this procession, it is also given a grand welcome by the people of minority community (Muslim and weaver community).

Chaudhary Kaifulwara, the outgoing chairman of Uttar Pradesh Urdu Academy, who has been welcoming the Vijayadashami procession for three generations, says that on the day of Dussehra, the entire city waits for the Vijayadashami procession of Gorakhnath temple. But, the most enthusiasm is seen among the people of minority community.
Kaifulavara says that a short distance away from the main gate of the temple, we stand with flower garlands hours in advance to welcome Gorakshpeethadhishwar. This time also preparations are being made to give a grand welcome to the procession. In fact, when Gorakshpeethadhishwar’s convoy stops to welcome the minority community, the picture of social harmony is panoramic.

According to the tradition of Gorakshpeeth, this year also on the day of Vijayadashami, a procession of Gorakshpeethadhishwar will be taken out from Gorakhnath temple on Saturday evening with great pomp. Peethadhishwar will ride in his vehicle with the blessings of Guru Gorakshanath. The procession of Gorakshpeethadhishwar will reach Mansarovar Temple amidst the tune of trumpet, drum and band. After reaching here, Yogi Adityanath will worship Lord Shiva at the Mansarovar temple. After this his procession will reach Mansarovar Ramlila Maidan. He will coronate Lord Shri Ram in the ongoing Ramlila here.
Along with this, Aarti will also be performed by worshiping Lord Shri Ram, Mata Janaki, Lakshman and Hanuman. Not only this, CM will also bless the devotees in the traditional Tilakotsav program to be held at Gorakhnath temple on the day of Vijayadashami.
