By-election dates announced: Voting on ten seats in UP on 13 November

New Delhi| By-elections have been announced for 48 assembly seats in 13 states along with Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Voting for 47 assembly seats from these by-elections will be held on November 13, while elections for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala will also be held on the same day. Notably, the Kedarnath Assembly seat in Uttarakhand and the Nanded Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra will also go to polls on November 13. The results of all seats will be announced on 23 November.

Of these 48 seats, 42 MLAs have previously become MPs. This group consists of the highest number of 11 MLAs from Congress, 9 from BJP, 5 each from SP and TMC, while other parties have 12 MLAs. Of the remaining 6 seats, three MLAs passed away, the seat became vacant due to the jail visit of one SP MLA, and the resignation and party change of 3 MLAs in Sikkim and Madhya Pradesh.

Notably Kerala’s Wayanad seat: Vacant due to Rahul Gandhi’s resignation. Nanded seat of Maharashtra: Due to the demise of Congress MP. Basirhat seat of West Bengal: Vacant due to the death of Trinamool MP. Thus, with the activities of the upcoming by-elections, the spirit of enthusiasm and competition among the political parties is increasing. All parties have started their preparations to ensure voter participation, so that the electoral process can be smooth and transparent.
