Budget 2025: A new scheme for SC, ST women entrepreneurs, more big announcements were made for women and farmers

New Delhi| Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the Lok Sabha. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made many big announcements in this budget for the fields of tax, farmers, women, MSME and education.

In the budget, the central government has made a big announcement that no tax will have to be paid on earnings up to Rs 12 lakh. Changes in slabs and rates were proposed to benefit taxpayers.

The loan limit on Kisan Credit Card will be increased from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Short-term loan facility will be provided to 7.7 crore farmers through Kisan Credit Card. Apart from this, Makhana Board will be formed in Bihar. Pradhan Mantri Dhandhanya Yojana will also be brought for farmers.
The scheme will be launched for 5 lakh women, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and first-time entrepreneurship starters. It will provide term loans of up to Rs 2 crore over the next 5 years. The experiences gained from Stand-up India Scheme will be included in this scheme.

A national plan will be implemented to develop India as a global hub in the field of toys. Under this scheme, toys manufactured with the development of skills and manufacturing system will be presented on the world stage with the brand of self-reliant India.
A plant with an annual capacity of 12.7 lakh metric tonnes will be set up in Namrup, Assam. Three closed urea plants have been reopened in the eastern region, a step towards self-reliance in urea production.
Credit guarantee cover for Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSME) has been increased from Rs 5 crore to Rs 10 crore. The investment and turnover thresholds for the classification of all MSMEs will be increased by 2.5 and 2 times respectively. Also, the government will introduce customized credit cards with a limit of Rs 5 lakh for registered micro enterprises.
National Manufacturing Mission will be launched to increase manufacturing in the country. In this, small, medium and big industries will be supported to support ‘Make in India’.
A big announcement has been made regarding IIT. Additional infrastructure will be created in five IITs. Along with this, IIT Patna will also be expanded.
A big announcement has also been made in the budget for the field of education. Investment in skills and higher level education “Make for India, Make for the World” essential for manufacturing, 5 National Centres of Excellence for Skilling will be established with global expert and partnership to equip youth with skills. An additional 10,000 seats in medical colleges and hospitals will be added next year, with the goal of an additional 75,000 seats to be increased over the forthcoming five years.
36 Duty tax on life-saving medicines to be abolished altogether. Cancer day care centers will be built in all government hospitals. In addition, cancer treatment medicines will be cheaper and custom duty on 6 life-saving medicines will be reduced to 5 per cent.
Apart from assistance for India’s footwear and leather sector, the scheme will be launched for footwear without leather. 2.2 million jobs and a turnover of 4 lakh crore and exports of more than 1.1 lakh crore are expected.
