Bharti Airtel and Google Announce Partnership, Users to Get 6 Months of Free Cloud Storage Service

New Delhi: Bharti Airtel and Google announced a partnership on Tuesday, offering Airtel users access to the ‘Google One Cloud Storage Subscription Service’. This collaboration aims to address the issue of limited device storage for users. All Airtel postpaid and Wi-Fi customers will receive 100 GB of Google One cloud storage free for six months, at no additional cost.
According to a joint statement by the companies, Airtel users will also be able to share this storage with up to five additional people.
From the activation date, the 100 GB cloud storage will be available free of charge for six months, allowing customers to back up their data and experience cloud storage benefits.
After the six-month free period, a monthly charge of ₹125 will be added to the customer’s bill if they choose to continue the subscription.
Customers who do not wish to continue will simply lose access to the Google One membership.

Karan Teo, Vice President of APAC, Platforms and Devices Partnerships at Google, said:
“We are excited to partner with Airtel to bring Google One to millions of users in India. Together, we’re offering users more storage across Google Photos, Drive, and Gmail to back up photos, videos, and essential files on their phones.”
The goal of this partnership is to eliminate data storage limitations for users. They will no longer need to delete photos, videos, documents, or other digital content just to free up space.
Additionally, WhatsApp chats on Android devices will be backed up to users’ Google account storage, making it easier to switch devices. The cloud storage provision is compatible with both Android and iOS platforms.
Siddharth Sharma, CEO – Connected Homes & Director of Marketing at Bharti Airtel, said:
“The smartphone is the primary device for managing both personal and professional information. Storage has become a major concern for every user. We’re delighted to collaborate with Google to offer a reliable, secure, and user-friendly storage solution. This partnership presents a valuable opportunity for our millions of postpaid and Wi-Fi customers to access up to 100 GB of additional storage.”
