Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina resigns amidst huge protesters uproar

Dhaka|The situation in Bangladesh is continuously worsening. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka amid the ongoing violence in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, a large number of protesters entered the Prime Minister’s residence in Dhaka. Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister. The protesters have also captured many important roads. The internet has been completely shut down. The government has also ordered the closure of social media platforms ‘Facebook’, ‘Messenger’, ‘WhatsApp’ and ‘Instagram’.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left her official residence in Dhaka after the violence broke out”, a senior official in Bangladesh’s Prime Minister’s Office told ANI on condition of anonymity. Her whereabouts are currently unknown. The situation in Dhaka is highly sensitive and the Prime Minister’s residence has been taken over by mobs.
