‘Awesome opportunities for global investors in India’- Piyush Goyal on US visit

New Delhi| Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is on a visit to America. During his visit, Goyal participated in many important programs to strengthen the strong trade and investment relations between India and America. Piyush Goyal’s visit to America, which started on September 30, will end on October 3.

On October 2, the Union Minister addressed a roundtable meeting with the CEO of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum. During this, Goyal highlighted the immense opportunities for global investors by emphasizing India’s strong economic growth, thriving manufacturing sector and ease of doing business.

Goyal invited US businesses to be a part of India’s growth journey, promote stronger bilateral relations and advance global progress. In separate meetings, Goyal met top executives of leading global firms to discuss possible collaboration in various sectors.

“We discussed possible cooperation to strengthen and diversify our presence in India in sectors such as food processing, textiles, infrastructure, renewable energy and critical minerals, which are poised for significant growth with strong support from the Modi government”, Goyal wrote on social media platform X after the meeting

Goyal also held a meeting with Sanjeev Ahuja, Founder and CEO, Tillman Global Holdings, focusing on India’s growing digital infrastructure. Goyal underlined India’s potential as a leader in green technology, citing opportunities in sustainable data centers and skilled talent pools that promote innovation.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday held a bilateral meeting with global private equity firm Warburg Pincus and global investment firm Blackstone in New York and discussed investment opportunities in sectors like electronics and renewable energy in India. Goyal is in the U.S. as of October 3, 2024, at the invitation of United States Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. He co-chaired the India-US CEO Forum with Raimondo on October 2. Apart from this, Goyal will co-chair the 6th India-US Commercial Dialogue in Washington DC on October 3.
