RBI: Highest number of customers of Kisan Credit Card in UP

New Delhi|Uttar Pradesh remains ahead compared to other states in terms of Kisan Credit Card. As of FY 2023-24, there were a total of one crore 9 lakh 17 thousand Kisan Credit Cardholders in the state. He took a loan of Rs 1.39 lakh crore. In 2022-23, there were one crore 7 lakh five thousand cardholders and the amount of debt was 1.28 lakh crore.

According to RBI data, among the other states besides UP which have shown a boom in Kisan Credit Card (KCC), mainly Rajasthan, 68.46 lakh cardholders took loans worth Rs 1.09 lakh crore in FY 2023-24. In 2022-23, 65.40 lakh cardholders had taken loans worth Rs 99,543 crore. The number of cardholders in Gujarat increased from 30.18 lakh to 31.37 lakh and the amount increased from 62,373 crore to Rs 71,138 crore.

Maharashtra had 71.75 lakh cardholders in FY 2022-23 who owed Rs 70,329 crore, the report said. In 2023-24, the number of cardholders increased to 72.18 lakh and the amount of debt reached Rs 78,018 crore. During this period, the number of Kisan Credit Cardholders in Madhya Pradesh increased from 62.67 lakh to 65 lakh. Through this, the total amount of borrowing increased from 78,012 crore to 84,253 crore.
People of South India have been at the forefront in getting Kisan Credit Card. There were 2.14 crore Kisan Credit Cardholders during FY 2023-24 in these states. He had taken a total loan of Rs 2.78 lakh crore. In the year before that, there were 1.98 crore cardholders, who were issued loans totalling Rs 2.45 lakh crore.

In Eastern India the number of cardholders increased to 1.11 crore in 2023-24 and the amount increased to Rs 69,338 crore.
In North India, the number of cardholders reached 1.30 crore in 2023-24, who were given loans worth 2.37 lakh crore.
In North East India, 10.50 lakh cardholders owed Rs 6,618 crore. In Central India, these figures increased to Rs 2.01 crore and Rs 2.40 lakh crore respectively.
