14 lakh pregnant women gets free ultrasound at private centers

Lucknow| Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is continuously taking important steps to provide easy, cheap and quality treatment to the people of the state. In the last seven and a half years, there has been a big change in the health infrastructure of the state, which has brought Uttar Pradesh, which was once called Bimaru Pradesh, into the category of Uttam Pradesh. Under this, the Yogi government is providing free ultrasound facility to pregnant women at private ultrasound centers.

More than 6 lakh pregnant women have availed the facility so far. Not only this, the Yogi government is providing free ultrasound facility to pregnant women at impaneled private ultrasound centers in any district of the state so that they do not have to wander to avail the facility.

National Health Mission (NHM) Director Dr. Pinky Joval said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is very serious about the health of mother and child. In such a situation, they are being provided quality treatment as well as nutritious food. He said that as per the intention of CM Yogi, the facility of e-Rupee voucher for free ultrasound on PPP mode is being made available to the pregnant women of the state from February 2023. This facility is being provided at private ultrasound centers under the Prime Minister’s Safe Motherhood Campaign.
The Mission Director said that to provide the benefit of the facility, 1,861 private ultrasound centers have been empaneled in 75 districts of the state. So far, 14,50,238 e-Rupee vouchers have been issued to pregnant women by the Government. At the same time, 6,81,341 e-Rupee vouchers have been availed by pregnant women.

Pregnant women can avail e-Rupee vouchers issued for one month. After this it gets canceled automatically. Whereas if the pregnant woman is not able to avail the benefits within the time limit, she can get the e-Rupee voucher again. Mission Director Dr. Pinky Joval informed that on the instructions of CM Yogi, e-Rupee vouchers are issued to pregnant women at PHC along with District Women’s Hospital, Joint Hospital, CHC on 4 PMSMA days of every month on 1st, 9th, 16th and 24th respectively.
He said that in the high level meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to campaign and publicize to provide more benefits of the facility. In such a situation, on the instructions of CM Yogi, Asha workers are going door-to-door and telling about the facilities.
