Delhi air remains in very poor category, with average AQI of 358

New Delhi| The air of the national capital New Delhi remains in very poor category. Delhi’s average air quality index (AQI) stood at 358.
The air of Delhi has remained poisonous for the last few days. The people of Delhi, especially children and the elderly, are facing difficulty in breathing while leaving the house. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the average air quality index in the capital Delhi stood at 358 points till 7.30 am on Wednesday. While Delhi NCR city Faridabad had 234, Gurugram 304, Ghaziabad 276, Greater Noida 274 and Noida 266 AQI.
Four localities in Delhi measured AQI levels above 400, with 412 recorded in Bawana, 419 in Mundka, 447 in NSIT Dwarka and 421 in Wazirpur. While in most areas of Delhi NCR, AQI was recorded between 300 and 400.
372 in Alipore, 398 in Ashok Vihar, 334 in Aya Nagar, 370 in Burari Crossing, 311 in Chandni Chowk, 333 in Mathura Road, 367 in Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range, 355 in DTU, 355 in Dwarka Sector 8, 347 in IGI Airport, 327 in ITO, 398 in Jahangirpuri, 315 in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and 309 in Lodhi Road remained AQI.
Apart from these, 354 in Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, 356 in Mandir Marg, 354 in Najafgarh, 377 in Narela, 376 in Nehru Nagar, 381 in New Moti Bagh, 373 in North Campus DU, 357 in Okhla Face 2, 381 in Patparganj, 388 in Punjabi Bagh, 330 in Pusha, 373 in RK Puram, 372 in Shadipur, 341 in Siri Fort, Sonia Vihar recorded 354 AQI and Dilshad Garden 358.
As of 7.15 am on Tuesday, the average AQI level of Delhi was recorded at 384. The AQI level was measured above 400 in 14 localities of Delhi, while it remained between 300 and 400 in 23 locations.
