Biz Update: NBCC to build health project from 1322.48 crore, NTPC unaudited financial results released

New Delhi| HSCC, a subsidiary of NBCC (India) Limited, has been entrusted with two major functions of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation. Among these projects are the construction of an additional 500 beds at ESIC Hospital located in Faridabad. This will increase the total bed capacity from 650 to 1,150. The second project involves the establishment of a new 500-bed ESIC hospital at Manesar (Gurugram).

The total value of these projects is approximately Rs 1,322.48 crore. New 500-bed ESIC in Manesar. The hospital will meet the growing health care demands of the Gurugram community. The project will be completed in about 42 months and has an estimated cost of Rs 660 crore. The construction of additional 500 beds at ESIC Medical College & Hospital in Faridabad aims to further improve the medical capacity in the area.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) for a major project. Transmission system for withdrawal of power from potential renewable energy sector in Khawda region of Gujarat, under Phase-5 (8 GW): Part A, estimated cost of Rs 24,819 crore (as per NCT estimates). The project includes installation of 6000 MW, 800 kV HVDC terminals at KPS 2 (Gujarat) and Nagpur (Maharashtra), 800 kV HVDC bipole line between KPS2 and.

During the current quarter (quarter ended September 30) Dahej Terminal processed 225 TBTU of LNG. There were 210 TBTU during the same quarter last year and 248 TBTU during the previous quarter ended June 30, 2024. The total volume of LNG processed by the company in the current quarter was 239 TBTU.

The volume of LNG processed in the same and previous quarters was 223 TBTU and 262 TBTU respectively. During the half year ended September 30, 2024 (current half year), Dahej Terminal processed the highest ever LNG of 473 TBTU against 428 TBTU during the same half year ended September 30, 2023. The highest overall LNG volume ever processed by the company in the current half-year was 501 TBTU, while the LNG volume processed in the same half-year was 453 TBTU.

NTPC Limited, the power generating company, declared unaudited financial results on 24 October 2024 for the quarter and half year ended 30 September. NTPC Group generated 220 billion units of electricity in the first half of FY 2025.

Whereas in the first half of FY 2024 this figure was 212 billion units. NTPC’s standalone gross generation stood at 186 billion units in the first half of FY 2025, compared to 179 billion units in the previous same period. NTPC coal stations achieved a plant load factor of 76.31 per cent against a national average of 70.63 per cent during the first half of FY 2025.
