PM Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stone of projects worth 6,100 crore in Varanasi

Varanasi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched projects worth Rs 6,100 crore in his parliamentary constituency. These include the inauguration of the R. J. Shankar Eye Hospital, built at a cost of Rs.90 crores.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi further said, “RJ Shankar Eye Hospital will remove darkness from the lives of Varanasi and many people of this region, taking them towards light”. This hospital will serve the elderly and also provide light to the children. A large number of poor people are going to get free treatment here. This hospital, has brought employment opportunities for the youth here.”

He said, “Kashi has been recognized as the capital of religion and culture since time immemorial. Now this city is also becoming famous as a big health center and healthcare hub of Purvanchal, UP. Kashi has been known as the capital of religion and culture since ancient times. Now Kashi is also becoming a major health care center and medical center in the Purvanchal region of UP. Be it trauma center in BHU, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital or establishment of medical colleges, there have been major improvements in healthcare in Kashi in the last 10 years”

The PM also met Shankaracharya of Kanchi Math before inaugurating the hospital. He visited an exhibition. During this, Governor Anandiben Patel and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present with him. Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of the new terminal building and other works of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport constructed at a cost of Rs 2,870 crore during his one-day visit to Varanasi.
