Yogi government to provide free ration for devotees during Mahakumbh 2025

Prayagraj| During the Mahakumbh 2025, no devotee coming here will sleep hungry. For this, extensive preparations have been made by the Yogi government in the fair area. Not only will stores be organized for the devotees in the entire fair area, they will also get the benefit of free ration facility. Ration cards will be made for the devotees living in Mahakumbh for several days and they will get the facility of ration. Those already holding ration card will also be provided ration on showing the ration card.

For this, a total of 160 fair rate ration shops will be established by the Food and Logistics Department in all sectors of the entire fair area, from where ration will be provided twice (January-February). There will also be 5 warehouses set up to store rations. More than 43 crore will be spent on this entire project.

According to the project, food grains, sugar and cooking gas will be provided to the devotees. Separate outlets will be set up for the sale of LPG cylinders. In addition to the 1 million permanent population, stores will be organized for the food of the temporary population, where rations will be supplied daily. According to an estimate, around 2 lakh ration cards will be required in two months. The special thing will also be that the devotees living in big camps will also benefit from this facility.

Under the project, wheat/flour is provided to the ration card holder at the rate of 3 kg per person, while 2 kg rice (fortified) per person will be supplied. Likewise 2 kg of sugar (per person), 2 liters of kerosene (per ration card) and a domestic gas connection are provided. There may also be a facility to refill the connection once.
