Karwa Chauth Special: Ingredients for making Kadhi

For curry
Gram flour- 1 cup
Yogurt- 1 cup
Water – 4 cups
Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Asafoetida-a pinch
Cumin – 1 tsp
Rayii- 1/2 teaspoon
Curry leaves-8-10
Salt – as per taste
Oil-for frying
For pakodas
Gram flour- 1/2 cup
Onion- 1 chopped
Green chilli – 2 chopped
Coriander leaves-cut
Salt – as per taste
Water – as per requirement
Method of making Kadhi
1. First of all, add gram flour, onion, green chili, coriander leaves and salt in a bowl and mix well.
2. Then add water little by little and make a thick batter.
3. Now add small pakodas with a spoon in hot oil and fry them until they turn golden.
4. Then add curd and water in a pan and beat well.
5. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, asafoetida, cumin and salt and mix.
6. Now place the pan on the gas and cook on medium flame. Keep stirring continuously so that curd does not go away.
7. When the mixture starts boiling, add gram flour to it and mix well. Cook until thick.
8. After this, add fried pakodas to the curry and cook on low flame for 5-7 minutes.
9. Finally, serve hot kadhi with rice or roti.

Special tips
1. To make the curry more tasty, you can also add a little ginger or garlic paste to it.
2. If you like curry thick, you can add more gram flour to it.
3. You can also add vegetables as per your choice in curry such as carrots, cauliflower etc.
4. Before serving the curry, you can add a little coriander leaves to it.
