Lucknow|The Chief Minister has given a big gift to the consolidation accountants of Uttar Pradesh before Diwali. 728 consolidation accountants from 68 districts of the state have been promoted to the post of Consolidator (Kanungo). Consolidation accountants who have been waiting for eight years have been promoted and given Diwali gifts.

UP Consolidation Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is making serious efforts for quick settlement of land disputes and consolidation problems in the state. Since 2016, many posts of Kanungo were lying vacant in various districts of the state, due to which obstacles were being created in the land recalibration and consolidation process. This was delaying the resolution of disputes related to farmers’ land and was also harming land reform efforts.

Taking this problem seriously, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had given instructions to fill the vacant posts. On his instructions, the Departmental Promotion Committee was formed, through which 728 qualified Consolidation Accountants have been promoted. In this promotion process, 60 consolidation accountants of Bareilly district have been made lawmen, which is the highest number in the state. After this, 41 consolidation accountants have got promotion in Kannauj, 35 in Moradabad, 32 in Gorakhpur and 25 in Lalitpur. This decision will give new energy to the consolidation process in these districts and the land related problems of farmers can be resolved rapidly.

He said that appointment to the posts of consolidationists will help in smoothly implementing the process of land reform and consolidation in the state. Recombination of land is extremely important for farmers, as it facilitates their farms to be collected and used in a better way. Proper reconstitution of land will increase the productivity of farmers and the state will develop in the direction of agriculture.

The Commissioner said that this step is not only in the interest of farmers, but is also being seen as a major success in the direction of revenue administration and land reforms in the state. This will speed up the settlement of land disputes and bring prosperity to the agricultural sector of the state.
