Yogi government to set up export hub at Jewar Airport, export of agricultural products to get a boost

Lucknow| Yogi government is going to establish an export hub near Jewar Airport under ‘UP Agreement Project’ to promote the income, agricultural productivity and agriculture related industries of the farmers of the state. It will be implemented with the help of the World Bank. Apart from this, Agricultural SEZ (Special Economic Zone) will be established to export two to three produce globally on a large scale. Besides, two to three world class hatcheries will also be established.
CM Yogi has instructed farmers to make comprehensive arrangements to promote loans in the agriculture sector under the UP Agreement Scheme. This effort of Yogi government is an important step towards making the agriculture sector of the state the power house of the entire country.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recently given green signal to the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Growth and Rural Enterprises Ecosystem Strengthening (UP Agreements) project to change the picture of the agriculture sector of the state and to give global recognition to agricultural products. Under this, an export hub will be established near Jewar Airport to promote agricultural products. Through this, high value agricultural products like groundnut, vegetables, black salt rice, sesame etc. will be exported to foreign countries.

Uttar Pradesh exports meat, Basmati rice, fruits and vegetables and various types of products related to the food processing sector on a large scale. In such a situation, the process of export through agricultural products will be increased. For this, 30,750 Cluster Farmers Group will be developed here. At the same time, a common facility center will be established for exporters.
Under the UP Agreements Project, Agriculture (Special Economy Zone) SEZs will be established to export two to three produce of agricultural produce of the state on a large scale, which will focus on forward linkage and capturing a large part of the export markets. These will be developed in 11 districts of the state. Among these, SEZs will be established in Siddharthnagar and Gorakhpur for black salt rice.

SEZs will be established in Jhansi for groundnut, Lalitpur for Urd, Jaunpur for vegetables, Bhadohi, Banaras, Ghazipur and Ballia. Under the project, comprehensive steps will be taken to increase the productivity of major crops of the state by 30 to 50 percent in the next five years. This will increase farmers’ income by at least 25 per cent.
Additionally, a world-class carbon credit market will be established to promote organic farming. A local weather station will be established to provide accurate weather information to the farmers of the state. Similarly, two to three world class hatcheries will be established to promote fisheries.
