Mumbai: The capital of India is New Delhi. But the economic capital of the country is called Mumbai often referred to as Maximum City, Financial Capital or even the city that never sleeps. In yet another crown in Mumbai’s feather, the city has become the ‘capital of billionaires’ of Asia. According to the Hurun India Rich List 2024, Mumbai has more billionaires than China’s capital city Beijing.
Hurun India Rich List 2024 was released recently. It states that 25% of Asia’s billionaires live in Mumbai. In this sense, this city is the new capital of billionaires across Asia. This city has overtaken China’s capital Beijing in this matter. Not only this, Mumbai is also the favoruite city for Hurun India Rich Listers. New Delhi and Hyderabad are ranked after this city in the list.
If you look at this year’s list, you will find that Mumbai also recorded a net increase of 58 billionaires. That is why this city has become the capital of billionaires. After this, New Delhi was next, which added 18 new billionaires. This list further states that India has also left China behind in terms of billionaires.
According to this list, during the period under review, 29 percent more billionaires were registered in India, the number of billionaires in China decreased by 25 percent.
Anas Rehman Junaid, founder and chief researcher of Hurun India, has been quoted in the media saying that India is emerging as the wealth creation engine of Asia. He said, “While the number of billionaires in China has declined by 25%, their number has increased by 29% in India. With this, the number of billionaires has reached a record 334.” Mumbai’s vibrant and dynamic lifestyle keeps the city buzzing 24/7. Several factors contribute to this reputation:
