Gautam Adani discussed partnership in aviation sector with Bombardier CEO

New Delhi| Transformative partnerships in the aviation sector were discussed in a high-level meeting with Bombardier CEO Eric Martel on behalf of Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani. Gautam Adani informed on social media platform X that its objective is to create better coordination to create a self-reliant and strong India. “Transformative partnerships in Aircraft Services, MRO and Defense were discussed with Bombardier CEO Eric Martel to drive the growth of India’s aviation sector”, said Adani Group Chairman.
“We can use partnerships to contribute to making India strong and self-reliant”, he added. Adani Group founded Adani Airports Holdings Limited (AAHL) in 2019 and is a company 100 percent owned by Adani Enterprises. AAHL has a large portfolio in the aviation sector. At present the company has big airports like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram. From December 2024, Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) will also be added to AAHL’s portfolio.
Currently AAHL is the largest airport infrastructure company in the country. The company handles 25 percent of the nation’s total passenger footfall and 33 percent of aircargo traffic. The landing of fighter jets on the runway will be trialled by the Air Force on October 5 at Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Operations on NMIA will begin in two phases. This airport will have the capacity to handle 20 million passengers annually. This airport will be connected to Atal Setu and Metro Rail. Its cost is around Rs 16,700 crore.
