Gorakhpur| Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that Gorakhpur, whose name used to cause fear 15-20 years ago, where the idea of facilities was meaningless seven years ago, is now becoming a confluence of development and employment with modern thinking and a new tourism hub. CM Yogi was addressing the function organized at Tal’s jetty after inaugurating the floating restaurant ‘Float’ built in Ramgarh Tal. During this, he also distributed allotment certificates to seven people of Greenwood Apartment, a residential project of Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA).
The Chief Minister said that people were afraid of the name of Gorakhpur one and a half decade ago. Even till seven years ago, Gorakhpur was far away from development. It was a dream to come to the place where this event is being held today. Ramgarh Tal had become a stronghold of filth and crime in Gorakhpur. Separate forces had to be deployed for the guests and ministers staying in the Circuit House. The fertilizer factory of Gorakhpur was closed. The people of Gorakhpur had to get stuck in traffic jams throughout the day.
He said that today there are four and six lane roads in Gorakhpur. The airport here is one of the busiest airports in the country. Gorakhpur has excellent railway connectivity. The fertilizer factory has become operational again. BRD Medical College has become an excellent center of medicine, AIIMS is also operational. Ramgarh Tal had once become almost dead. Today, this natural lake covering 1,800 acres is attracting tourists with a new aura. New hotels are opening here. Cruise facility had already started in Ramgarhtal. The floating restaurant has also been inaugurated.
CM Yogi said that now if you feel like having refreshments and food on the banks of a natural lake, then this facility has become available in Gorakhpur itself. With modern thinking, development is also taking place and this development is also becoming a medium of employment. Now guests and tourists coming to Gorakhpur will get five star facility. Ring road is being built around Ramgarh Tal. The night view in Gorakhpur looks very attractive due to the spectacular lighting.
Expressing confidence, CM Yogi said that the floating restaurant will provide excellent facilities to the local people and tourists from the country and the world. With excellent connectivity, hotel chains are now going to open here. A convention center is also going to be built soon. While congratulating the allotters of Greenwood Apartment, he directed the GDA officers to complete the construction of the apartment on time keeping in mind the quality. GDA has set a target to complete it in July 2027, but efforts should be made to complete the construction before Makar Sankranti in 2027 and hand it over to the allottees so that people can celebrate Makar Sankranti in their residence and receive the Prasad of Makar Sankranti in their residence.
