As India charges toward its Viksit Bharat vision, the woodworking and furniture industry has emerged as a frontline driver of industrial growth. From 26 February to 2 March 2026, the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre will host INDIAWOOD 2026, the largest and most ambitious edition in the event’s history. This 26th biennial edition arrives at a historic turning point for the nation’s manufacturing sector, largely driven by the progress of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement. Popularly dubbed the Mother of All Deals by policymakers, this pact is set to revolutionise market access by eliminating tariffs and facilitating the seamless inflow of advanced European machinery into Indian factories.

Organised by NürnbergMesse India and supported by EUMABOIS, the exhibition has expanded by 15% to cover a massive 85,000 square meters. The event is expected to host over 1,000 brands from more than 50 countries and draw 90,000 industry professionals. This record-breaking scale reflects a growing global confidence in India as a critical link in the international supply chain. Sonia Prashar, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India, emphasises that this edition reinforces India’s position as a mature and ambitious manufacturing destination ready to compete on a global stage.

The 2026 showcase highlights a significant shift toward Industry 4.0, featuring automation-led solutions, precision engineering, and smart digital tools for production planning. Sustainability remains a core pillar, with exhibitors focusing on bio-based adhesives, certified wood, and low-emission products that align with international environmental standards. Beyond machinery, the event fosters knowledge exchange through the Wood+ in Architecture & Design conference, which explores the role of wood in sustainable construction.

By co-locating with the India Mattresstech & Upholstery Supplies Expo, INDIAWOOD creates a comprehensive ecosystem that spans the entire value chain. As the Indian furniture market targets a $ 40 billion valuation by 2030, this summit serves as the ultimate platform where domestic production capabilities intersect with global technology, ensuring that Made-in-India products are synonymous with world-class quality and innovation.
