The commemorative postage stamp was released on Saturday at the Vice-President’s Enclave in New Delhi. He referred to initiatives such as the Kashi Tamil Sangamam and said that honouring Tamil kings, leaders and freedom fighters was essential to restoring cultural pride as India moves towards the goal of Viksit Bharat. The Vice-President said the release of the stamp on Emperor Perumbidugu Mutharaiyar II was part of this broader effort to recognise unsung heroes and celebrate India’s rich civilisational heritage.

Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Harivansh, and Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs L. Murugan were also present at the ceremony.
