Supplementary budget worth Rs 12909 crore presented by Yogi government

Lucknow| The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday presented the supplementary budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the state assembly. The Yogi government has presented a supplementary budget of over Rs 12,909 crore. State Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented supplementary grant demands for 2024-25 in the state assembly. He informed that this supplementary budget is worth Rs 12,909 crore 93 lakh. This supplementary budget is 1.66 per cent of the original budget of Rs 7.36 lakh crore presented in February this year.

1000 crores to buy buses
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that the expenditure of revenue account in the supplementary budget is Rs 4227.94 crore and expenditure of capital account is Rs 7981.99 crore. He informed that in the supplementary budget especially Rs 7500. Rs 18 crore for industrial development, Rs 2000 crore for energy department, Rs 1000 crore for transport department to buy buses, Rs 600 crore for AMRUT scheme under urban development department, Rs 200 crore for short term programs under Uttar Pradesh Skill Mission, Rs 100 crore for rural stadium and open gym.

74.90 crore for the Department of Culture
The Finance Minister further informed that in the supplementary budget, a provision of Rs 28.40 crore is proposed for setting up labs in 284 government inter colleges under the Secondary Education Department and Rs 66.82 crore for setting up ICT labs in 1040 government secondary schools. He informed that a provision of Rs 74.90 crore is proposed for various schemes of the Culture Department, Rs 53.15 crore for the establishment of Atal Residential Schools and Rs 2.79 crore for the maintenance of residential and non-residential buildings.

CM Yogi spoke on women empowerment
On this occasion, CM Yogi said that between the years 2017 to 2024, the UP government’s intensification of prosecution in cases related to sexual harassment against women and minor children has yielded meaningful results. The accused have so far been sentenced in 24,402 cases. From the years 2017 to 2024, 9,875 indictments under the POCSO Act have led to convictions. Uttar Pradesh has completed years of pendency in crimes related to women. Uttar Pradesh ranks No. 1 in the country in implementing the e-prosecution system and ranks first in the country in disposal of cases related to crimes against women and children. He said that large scale steps have been taken regarding women and child safety in Uttar Pradesh. As soon as we came to government, we formed Anti-Romeo Squad. The UP government is committed to providing security to every women and  businessmen.
