8 people buried, one dead as two houses collapse near Kashi Vishwanath Temple
Varanasi| Two houses collapsed late night in Yellow Zone near Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. This accident happened at Khoya Gali intersection of Chowk police station area. A total of 8 people from two families were trapped under the debris in this incident, while a female policeman deployed for security for the temple was also seriously injured. A woman also died in this accident.
Administrative officials and NDRF team reached the spot and conducted the rescue operation. Gate No. 4 leading to Kashi Vishwanath Temple has been closed after the accident. Visitors going to the temple from gate number one and number two are being allowed entry. NDRF DIG MK Sharma said that everyone was evacuated safely in a 4-hour operation.
